Family Session at Hinge Park

by ehflegg

For this family session, this family of four was about to move from East Van to North Van where they’re sharing a house with a sibling’s family, which sounds to me like the best party.

They wanted a shoot at a favourite spot near the place where both kids were born and spent the first years of their childhoods, to document this chapter of family life.

It’s so interesting to see what kids remember and what they get attached to. Their oldest, when informed that he was about to be a North Van Kid, replied forcefully that he was ALWAYS be an East Van Kid. He has lived in Mount Pleasant his whole life.

Place is so meaningful, no matter your age. It’s why I love capturing you in your favourite places. It puts you in context. It let’s you relax and just enjoy some time with your people in a shared meaningful spot.

Spring is here on the island, and that means it’s almost family shoot season! To get first crack at this season’s dates hop on the mailing list (I’m very lax about it, I promise)
