More artists! These two are illustrator April de la Noche Milne and writer Wayde Compton.
They collaborated on a graphic novel called The Blue Road, set to come in the fall, and since blue is a recurring theme in the book, they requested that our session include a blue backdrop. I did some research and asked around for the best blue walls in the city and settled on this one, on Triumph Street.
I brought two cameras with me for these shoot, so these are a mix of 35mm and medium format film. The Hassleblad medium format camera is a beast, and a slow one, so we really took our time setting up the portraits and made the most of the golden hour light. I can’t get enough of the greens and blues.
